Hooker at Electric Picnic? 18 years 8 months ago #1

i remember wandering around the electric picnic last year looking for galway hooker (which i'd read in a galway magazine article would be available there) to no avail. anyone know if it'll be there this year? given the heineken branding on the ep website i doubt it, hope that doesn't effect the belgian beers available in the body & soul area. last year i mostly transferred bottles of london pride to a 2 litre water bottle, some of the lovely scrumpy that pie minister sold off cheaply on the sunday and some fruli and other belgian beers. maybe goose island ipa will be my tipple this year! anyone any suggestions for the perfect festival drink that will still taste good after being in a ballygowan bottle for a couple of hours?

There's craft beer at Electric Picnic!? Oh goodie...

I'm doing security for the festival over the 3 days but i'll have alot of free time too..., some good beer would def. make things go easier

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for some nice beer this year so. I remember getting some nice beers in the Body and Soul last year. If there's Galway Hooker there that would be great!

Do you remember what sort of beers were available? I was at oxegen a few years ago and I didn't drink anything that I didn't bring....

well there was delerium tremens but from what i can remember the selection seemed to change but generally it was belgian with an emphasis on the lambic/geueze style maybe there was watou wit as well, all on tap think they seemed to be selling more of the kopparberg style swedish ciders than anything else but they definitely had a few beers on tap. it's a nice area to chill out in anyway (the body & soul area)the queue can be a bit mental at times though.
i'm not camping so will have a bit more hassle getting beer in but if you are camping i reckon you're probably better off just bringing down a load of your favourites and pouring them into plastics as you go along.
think the main problem will be the beastie boys clashing with the jesus and mary chain!!!
