It was the first strong beer I really got into. I don't think it stands up to some of its contemparies but I think its very good for a beer which is easily available. I got Tim Webb's Good Beer Guide to Belgium ands he gave it a proper kicking. Bit harsh I thought.

Interesting thought but since the beer came with a different, one which emphasied the vintage, I thought that maybe it had been bottle aged in a cellar somewhere before being released. Maybe not though. It might explain why I was a bit underwhelmed. I did have very high hopes though.
