Anyone who has a sky box set your recorder at 11pm on channel 167 "qwest+1". 1/2 hour program about making beer

HOW STUFF WORKS T.V. 15 years 4 months ago #2

watched this program last night and it was good,it will come around again so I will watch out for it and try give a heads up.They went to "pilsner urquell", "sierra neveda", and "dogfish head" brewers. Use of open top square fermenters in use was a surprise but the guy at the end saying that beer typically has 12% alcohol was a bit off I taught. The pilsner urquell brewery also malt their own malt still, cool.

Just caught the end of this program just as this guy came on. Gotta catch it again as I was pleasantly surprised to see sierra nevada and dogfish on as opposed to BUD. Only caught the end of what he said, seemed a bit much? One of these shock and awe merchants.

The point about a shot in every pint seemed fair though, for instance my (uneducated) maths comes up with 25 ml of alcohol in a 500ml 5% ABV beer. Though the shot glass he used looked more like 50 ml

I've been watching the old episodes of the beer hunter with Michael Jackson on Youtube lately; some really epic shows. I think I teared up a bit after seeing what Pilsner Urquell USED to be. -I now have 2 regrets in life:

1. I didn't get to see Michael Jordan play in person
2. I didn't get to visit Pilsner Urquell before it sold its soul
