After watching 'ear to the ground' the other night I'm mad to try out a few of the white gypsy beers.
Anyone point me in the direction of a few.
In the South-east if possible!

The power of TV advertising, wha'?

Can't think of anywhere down your way that would have them. In Dublin there's the Messrs Maguire house beers, and they show up now and again in the Abbot's in Cork. Until he starts bottling I doubt you'll see much more of them, though.

I know <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
I was aware of the brewery/brand and curious but I guess the slot brought it closer to the front of my mind <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
I wasn't aware he didn't bottle, pity.

Ah well some day!

Hi ,

Had a few pints of "the white gypsy brewing companies" Ale called "Ruby". Its for sale in draft form in the County Arms Hotel in Birr for 4.30 euro (i think) a pint. What an excellent ale, fair play to the guys from templemore. Its a smooth ale absoluty fantastic, loved every drop..

Cheers

I'm waiting to see what Cuilan does with this year's hop harvest. (He's growing LOADS of his own hops and had a beer made with them for the Messer's relaunch last year.) -Well, loads from my perspective as a home brewer who has 13 plants and feels like that's a lot.

I'd love to see some commercial hops used to get the bitterness levels up a bit, and then huge amounts of late/whirlpool hopping ala "wet hopping". (Freshly picked and thrown in the kettle/whirlpool within 24 hours.)

[Edit] Found the pictures of Cuilan and his hops: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.118616...8292.104399489615609">www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 9489615609

And here's the video of the interview with Cuilan talking about his hops:

400 hop plants total! I knew it was loads.

-Last year's was still the only "wet hopped" beer in Ireland.
