Taiphoon Lemongrass Beer 18 years 8 months ago #1

Picked up a bottle in McHugh's. It's brewed by the Hopback Brewery of 'Summer Lighning' fame. I'm not bowled over by Summer Lightning so I wasn't expecting too much. However I really enjoyed this as a summer session beer. The bottle says it contains East Kent Goldings & Pioneer hops, Lemongrass & Coriander. It has a nice balance between subtle but noticeable hopping and spicy, lemony flavour. Thumbs up, good on its own and I'd say it would be nice with fish.

Strangley enough I bought a bottle this morning. I'd been looking for it for ages.

I got 4 bottles of it with my CAMRA beer club delivery this month. It is indeed very drinkable. Pity we don't have a summer to properly enjoy it.

I didn't think the Beer Club would deliver to our neck of the woods so I never bothered checking it out. I'm going to put my name down now! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> This month's selection looks good; I certainly enjoyed the Brakspear Triple on previous tastings though can't remember the Taiphoon.

They're a decent bunch. I'm not a member of CAMRA but they gave me the CAMRA member discount to offset the cost of postage.

Very nice, how much did it cost?
