Sainsburys 18 years 9 months ago #1

I was passing by Sainsburys in Sprucefield, coming back from Belfast, and was surprised at the amount of craft beers available (approx. 20-30). I bought a few to sample:
Bitter and twisted, fiddlers elbow, discovery, Sam Adams, St.Patricks best, Badger first gold. All at £1.69 per bottle (approx €2.50). There also seemed to be a mix of german, belgian and polish commercial brews.

Bitter and Twisted is lovely and I plan on trying a few of the others tonight.

However, there were no stouts, other than Diageo's finest...

Anybody tried these other brews and what do you think?

p.s. My wife now thinks I'm mental as I keep on bringing home a mix of bizarre beers she has never heard of, where before it was always only Heineken or Guinness <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt="" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

Bitter and Twisted is excellent as is Sam Adams but I've strayed towards The Brooklyn Brewery's lager recently because it's a bit hoppier.

bitter and twisted is one of my recent favourites, love it. fiddlers elbow is nice too, but I prefer hobgoblin from wychwood.

I've had Discovery on draught and wasn't impressed. Rather bland, I thought: a marketer's attempt to keep ale drinkers away from lager in warm weather.

I agree. I opt for Fuller's Honey Dew if it's available.
