This is one GORGEOUS Schwartzbier. Without question the best Schwartzbier I've ever had. Has quite a bit more body than I'd expect in a Schwartzbier, but when it tastes this good; style guidelines be damned!

Redmonds in Ranelaugh has it right now.

If Guiness Black Lager had any where NEAR this much flavor, I'd have to start drinking Macro again.

I also had Belhaven's Scottish Stout and it is velvety smooth, and slightly sweet and also just goregeous; I got two lucky picks tonight. I didn't even know that Belhaven made a stout; I'm guessing that this is a recent development.

It's 7% and I didn't even notice; I would've guessed 5%. A clear glass bottle is my only complaint but maybe in such a dark beer it doesn't matter so much. (No skunkiness for what that's worth.)

Hoppy Stouts (Imperial or otherwise) are ALWAYS my favorite style and Zeitgeist is a hoppy black beer that you could drink even during the hottest part of the year. I hope this is a regular beer from Brewdog and I hope Obriens starts carrying it...
This makes up for the 77 Lager & Trashy Blonde and then some. (Not to mention that we can get Tokyo Stout for 7.99 Euros in Ireland and it's $20 in the US, so Brewdog is back in my good graces again.)

Zeitgeist is a regular beer from BrewDog, released early 2009, AFAIR. My first impressions[/url:1woxybkn] were really good, but after I ordered a pack of them and after drinking a fair few (:)) I found it felt a bit thin after a while, but still a good go-to beer.

Check out the Czech Inn (heh) if they have Herold Bohemian Black - it has Zeitgeist beat, for my money.

Shit, I'd like to try that. A chap had told me that it was the inspiration for Zeitgeist.
