Brew Dog Tokyo for 2.20 Euros? 15 years 9 months ago #1

Today must be my lucky day!

My wife just brought home a bottle of Brew Dog Tokyo from O'Brien's for 2.20 Euros. (Apparently some of the clerks just don't know what they have there.)
-It was the only one or I'd go back and load up, lol!

Hmmm.. where is the nearest O'Briens to me then....

Probably a once off though, I doubt its nationwide.

4 of the brew dog beers in o'briens in bray, all 2.20.
Picked up some 5 am saint, looking forward to them!!
Loving the brew dogs at the moment!!

I found their two lightest beers to both be too salty.

The 77 Lager just generally salty (like table salt), and the BrewDog Trashy Blonde to have a very pronounced metallic salty taste. (I tried to get the batch number off of my last bottle but my wife had already washed the bottle and removed the label...)

-And no, hops don't produce salty or metallic flavors.

Tokyo* was VERY good, but I can't help but thinking that I'd like it better if it was about 10-12%. (Hmm... wonder if I can still track down a bottle of "Tokyo Black"...)

Their Paradox Islay stout is my second favorite European stout and is VERY different than N0gne; they occupy two different ends of the Imperial Stout flavor spectrum so there's plenty of room for both. lol!

Punk IPA is just all around great stuff.
I've had nothing but fantastic stuff from BrewDog until I tried their two light beers, but I guess I shouldn't expect them to do every style well...

I asked in o'Briens on Botanic Road and the Tokyo is available in Dun Laoghaire and Ballybrack only. Was told it was €7.99 a bottle too though

They have 5am Saint, Trashy Blonde, Punk IPA and 77 Lager in the Galway branch, just bought a few. Between 2-2.20 a bottle.
