I have a beer kit for an English strong bitter and it is calling for 3lbs of sugar. I have 1kg (2.2lbs) of beer enhancer. Does anybody have any thoughts on if it is OK for me to get the final 0.8 lbs from granulated sugar, or is it important that I do the full 3 lbs in beer enhancer?
Beer kit enhanser is a mix of sugar and malt extract. you would be better adding more malt extract than sugar.
the sugar will ferment and add more alchol although it will thin out your beer and leave it with very little body
