Sainsbury or asda northern ireland 15 years 10 months ago #1

I am going north at the end of the month. I have been looking on both sainsbury and asda uk websites,is the same beer available in the north as on their uk site.

Not sure but Asda in Enniskillen isn't much better than Tesco down here in terms of choice. Sainsburys is better but you might be better off locating a decent offie.

The Sainsbury's list looks much smaller than what's generally on the shelves (in Armagh and Newry anyway; last time I was in Sprucefield the selection was rubbish). Sainsbury's always has Whitewater beer too.

A short walk up the Ormeau Road from the city centre, you'll find The Vineyard off sales with a variety of Clanconnel, Hilden + College Green and Whitewater beers as well as a wide selection of English, Flemish, American and Scottish beers.

Definitely worth a visit!!

Have to say I was a bit disappointed the last time I had a look in the Vinayrd - they had feck all by way of IPA... still, its better than the winebarell thats just up the road.

A year and a half ago Vineyard would've been full of things you can't get down here but drinkstore, Redmond's etc. have caught up or even surpassed since then.

You'd probably still find something that's not down here (esp Clanconnel) but it's not the must-see it used to be, imho.
