iBrew + Cooper 40 Pint Kit ? 15 years 11 months ago #1

Hi all,
I bought the iBrew kit a while back - worked fine, but now I want to try different kits.

So I have 2 x 20pint fermenting buckets & 4 x 10 pint plastic dispensing bottles, which uses the tap-a-draft system (carbonator & tap).

I presume that if I get a 40-pint Coopers kit (for instance), then I don't need anything else to complete the brew ? I've been told to get extra yeast, but not sure where or how I add that...

Any help / advise appreciated.

thx,
RebelQ

If you get a 40 pint Coopers kit, that is a one can kit so you will need to get some extra fermentables on top of that to make up the 40 pints.
There are a few options, some a lot better than others.
You can go with a kilo of kitchen sugar, which is the least advisable as it will give some strange off-flavours to the brew and will taste kinda cidery.
You can go with a kilo of brew kit enhancer which is a mix of spray dried malt and glucose which will give arguably for a Coopers kit, the best result.
You can go with a kilo of spray dried malt which will give a good result also, but may be a little too malty for some tastes and will take a while longer to be matured and ready to drink.

If you have a look at Homebrewwest[/url:19ixq29k] they have some very good value offers with everything you need to make the kit included in the one price.
