Edit : Looking back now at an article I wrote soon after I see that some mention was made of wheat for it's head retention properties , but only as part of the general description of ingredients for beer , nothing seems to have been specifically mentioned about it in the Beamish recipe .
I'm stumped really , I would have thought that wheat as an ingredient would have jumped out at me on the day , but as I recall now it was all Barley , Lager malt , Roast Malt and and roasted barley .
