Septemberfest works so well because bord bia are seen as an honest broker. ‘Love Craft Beer’ is a good idea for a general festival. The beernut is right that a more targetted festival has many problems.[/quote:2r9khzyk]

True, and I wasn't advocating this at all. The point (not well made) is that it [i:2r9khzyk]would[/i:2r9khzyk] be nice if the breweries would think to get together and do something like AFIM was advocating.

How about 'the Beer pride festival'? we can tack it on to that moustache parade I saw in Dublin last year. Does anyone have a pair of leather chaps I can borrow?

I was asking a local publican, a young owner, to get some craft beers in the last couple of months. So the other day I dropped in early, and caught him offguard, passed him a bottle of Hophead and all Wally's details, a sweetner I told him, so if that dosen't work, well I suppose I'll have to stop wrecking his head then....

I think they think Its a huge chance they're taking, but i don't know if it is really?

I mean, if he bungs it in a below-the-counter fridge and waits for people to order it by name then of course no-one will buy it. But if he doesn't treat it like Heineken and puts a bit of effort into promoting it he immediately has an advantage over his competitors by selling something they don't.

Well done on the beervangelism, btw <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
