It should come in at about 30 IBU's, so probably closer to pale ale, or just a little short of it.

I'm wondering if you could take a different approach and appease the boss by using something like "FX Buckley presents..." and then give yourself more flexibility on the name. Without wanting to offend anyone, I think using "Bull and Castle" in the actual beer name would make it more obvious it's your house brew to random punters.

"FX Buckley presents...Bull and Castle Golden Ale" as a simple example.

Would just give more room for the more creative minds around here to manoeuvre...
