But I think that's the point with blue moon, Coors could easily invest in using a Belgian yeast and not just rely on some spice additions to get into the "ball park"

Nope, still not buying.

I like choice, and the big boys are essentially anti-competitive. For that, they don't get my dollar when I can help it.

I don't want Diageo brewing the best IPA; I want 100 brewers making IPAs and I get to decide which is the best.

Fortunately, that's what we have.

My wife loves it, probably because it was her Grandmothers favourite beer.

I enjoyed it in the US where I had little in the way of choice* but for the most part I would pick something else like Bells Oberon if we are sticking with the same style.

I once tried Shock Top (anheuser Busch I think)... I have had worse beers but not as good as Blue Moon and certainly not as good as Oberon is in its native Michigan. Of course none of these are as good as a true Belgian Wit.
