Pick up some M&S beers over the weekend and so far not so good. Had the Lincolnshire Best Bitter on Sunday and didn't like it, had a strange candied fruit flavour that I tend to get in certain beers with a high ABV even though this one is only 4.9%

Tried the Cheshire Chocolate Porter last night and couldn't finish it. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? --> I can still taste the artificial chocolate taste. Interesting that the beer actually had the colour of an Ale rather than what I would normally associate with a Porter and it also didn't taste as strong as it's 6%

Still have the Belgian Wheat Beer to go. I'm quite partial to Wheat Beers but I'm not holding out too much hope for this one.

Also got the Cherry(?) Cider for herself and somehow don't think I'll be asking for a taste if the others are anything to go by.

Such a pity as their wine selection is fantastic.

I got a few other other that have not made it down here, Meantime are doing there London porter for them and their Yorkshire bitter is very nice along with their Staffordshire IPA

Grabbed a bottle of Harviestoun Ola Dubh (40 Year Old) last night here in the local off licence, at almost $20 a bottle I bought just the one before deciding on buying a bunch of them.

I'm only getting in on the Marks n Sparks beers now. I usually pass through Jervass St and hadn't seen any of the beers back until last week. Shame the O'Hara's stout is gone. I liked the slight variation on the actual O'Hara's branded stuff.

I noticed the Choc porter had lighter colour like an ale too. Ingredients also don't mention chocolate malt but rather a chocolate flavouring or something or other. That's one positive thing about the M&S beers and spirits - they have the full ingredients. Their Scottish whisky mentions that it has caramel in it.

Anyone sampled the [i:2ixutx8h]Wiltshire Rum Beer[/i:2ixutx8h]?

You probably shouldn't bother doing so.
