What's the general consensus on this?
I think it's very much overrated...Black Sheep Ale is still the best ale I've tasted so far.

I've only ever had bottled Bishop's Finger, and I quite like it -- there's an interesting mushroomy funk to it. I really like Black Sheep from the bottle, though the cask version has always disappointed, with a bit of a nasty vomity thing going on.

It's perfectly possible that none of the pints I had were well kept: inconsistency is the joy and tragedy of cask beer.
