ALDI will be selling some decent beers from October 1st. Licher weizen gift packs (as last year) €9.99 for 5 x 500ml bottles and a free weizen glass. I found this beer pretty good last time around and the glass is nice.

They are also offering Spaten and Lowenbrau Oktoberfest beers at €1.99 a bottle.

I was just about to put this up and ask about the Weizen. I'm always a sucker for a free glas!

I can always be tempted by a free glass too! Will have to check this out (although the stash at home here is getting a little big to be considering bringing in even more - luckily I have an idea of how to deal with that...).

Wow Furstenburg does actually exist in Germany! I always thought it was a brand made up by Guinness and that the marketing claims were about as true as
"the French adore Le Piat D'or"

I had my first Fürstenberg in about 15 years just a month or so ago, in a small Italian restaurant in my wife's home town. It definitely exists here, but it doesn't seem massively prevalent.

Was it really "brimming with black forest flavour"?
