Craft beer shop in Cork 16 years 7 months ago #1

One for the Cork members.

A friend is planning on assembling a beer hamper for her husband this Christmas and she is going to do it by buying two bottles of beer a week and stashing them. Where in Cork would you advise her to go and what beers would you advise her to try?

Her hubby discovered craft beer a little over a year ago and has been experimenting since. He acquired a taste for English ales during a recent trip to the UK, he drinks stout and weissbier in the pub and recently came home with some strong ale, so I think we can safely go crazy on this one.

And while I'm at it, any beer kit recommendations for this bloke? A starter kit and quality beer kit may also be in the offing.

This man's wife is a keeper, eh?

I'd imagine the Abbot's Ale house will serve her needs well.

he Abbot's Ale House, Devonshire Street, City Centre
Cork Tel: +353 21 4507116 .
They have everything. Ask them to throw in a few freebies like glasses along the way too to bulk it up...Staff are helpful and know their stuff.

Kitwise i would go for coopers stout. Fool proof and lovely.

I wold agree with Oconn - The Abbots has the biggest range by far.

Bradley#s Supermarket, North Main Street also carries a nice selection of beers and wines.

As Oconn said Abbots also very good with glasses - just ask!!
