Miller lost as an Iriah brew! 16 years 11 months ago #1

This may have been mentioned before, and I apologise in advance for posting in the "Craft Beer Talk" forum, BUT;
I see in the current issue of Drinks Industry Ireland that from May 1st Miller will no longer be brewed in Beamish & Crawford Cork, but will be brewed in Enschede (Grolsch) Netherlands instead. So that's one less for next years ICB awards. B&C also announced that they are pulling export of Beamish stout but were "focusing on driving the brand in the Irish market" or some such twaddle.

Incidentally, the clock is ticking on Budweiser; only 8 years of the contract brewing deal left for Diageo (allegedly).

Just got as far as page 35 of DII to find members of ICB pictured at the Porterhouse Beer & Whiskey Festival. Séin (called Shane) and Laura with Tony Brooks, Tom Doorley and Cuilan O'Loughlan.

Cool. And with my Bertie-Ahern-like willingness to accept "dig-outs" we might have a few unexpected names atop the leaderboard next year too.
