I second that. I think the dark lager is an interesting style, have you tried the Dark Budvar ?

Anyone with a recipe for dark lager, do you guys know if it should ferment at a temperature as cold as a "normal" lager ?

Yep, it's a regular bottom fermenting lagerbier. I'm always on the lookout for schwarzbier here as it can be a tasty drop, but doesn't seem all that common. Köstrizer is a good example of the style, but although I really liked it the first few times I had it, I found it getting a bit bland the more I drank of it. Still, a classic beer by all accounts (and a favourite tipple of Goethe!).

As I recall, I really enjoyed the Sam Adams Black Lager last time I got a 6-pack of it in Redmonds.

I have always preferred the "Darkside".

FYI, Both Budvar Dark and the Sam Adams Black Lager are at Tara's Ballina.
