Drinking a Bavaria Oud Briun.
Not the thing you'd expect from a biggie like Bavaria.
Very sweet to start but gets better as one gets used to it.
It's only 3% and tastes a bit like flat coke (in a good way if you can imagine that!)
Not a million miles away from the Harvey's Old English Ale.
Not bad at all from such a commercial brewery.
Good to see the big breweries making less commercial brews as well as yellow stuff.
Hmm.
On second thoughts, it lacks pretty much everything except the flat coke taste.
Not unpleasant, just not really anything.
Still, it's good to see them trying!
All the big Dutch brewers make this style. I think I'm the only person who really likes it. I'm especially fond of Heineken's (see last para here[/url:37tasu9w]) but I've never had Bavaria's -- will look out for it when I'm in the Netherlands over the summer.
