Picked myself up a "box set" (3 bottles and a funky glass) of the above while I was in Kilkenny. Haven't indulged yet, as I'd vague intentions of staying off the beer til Vienna at the end of the mont, but not sure how long I'll last

Anyone had it before? Any opinions?

Van Steenberge website describes it as "not too distinctly sweet" and goes on to wax lyrical about how "all the good of the past and the knowledge of the present are united in a unique beer". Usual marketing twaddle

I freely admit I mostly bought it for the tumbler-and-stand, but would appreciate the views of people I trust on this

I haven;t tried it but have seen it in the abbot ale house in Cork. I picked up a six pack of exclusive belgianb ales from therem also from VanSteenberge Brewery so they seem to have quite a few beers, I reckon buying a pack of 3 belgian beers because of the funky glass is not a bad move anyway as nearly all these belgian beers i have had so far are really good except I am not a fan of the lambic or Framboise tyes. Enjoy!

Going to Vienna and Bratislava myself in early May so ssut do some beer reading up before that!!!!
