It was bound to happen eventually, lots of beers get similar names after all. Never would have guessed that the first big Irish craft beer copyright story would involve Conor McGregor though.
I'm guessing O'Hara's will be the winner here. And even if not, it's decent publicity for their brand plus there's a chance they may make a few quid selling the name if McGregor is keen on it.
I'm surprised that Carlow got in first. Even before the beer was launched I'd heard that McGregor & Co. were very protective of all their branding. It's hard to believe they didn't think to file a trademark until 2017.
