Announcement that Chris Treanor is leaving Galway Bay Brewery.

[quote:1xdau3ua]Hey you lovely folk, Chris here, I have an unexpected, but heartfelt message to share with you.
After much deliberation, I’ve decided to part ways with Galway Bay Brewery as Head Brewer.
This has in no way been an easy decision.
I’ve joined this brewery in 2012 fresh out of university and I was keen to prove myself as a brewer.
Every year, we saw the brewery grow beyond expectations, with almost a new expansion or move in each year afterwards. It’s been hard to keep up with demand and keep the quality of the beer there alongside it! We’ve had our misses, but it's good to think of how many times we’ve managed to hit it out of the park. And I’m certain the upswing will continue as the focus on quality is truly dialled in and the confidence to invest in the brewery grows.
The brewery has become like a child for me, I’ve got to brew some of the highest rated beers in Ireland, I’ve started a sour program that will I’m certain become world-renowned as blending stocks build and as the brewery grows it’s skill set in putting such beers together. I’ve achieved so much that I’m proud of here.
Also, moving forward, my connections with this brewery will remain strong, we part ways now in a positive manner and I look forward to collaborating in all aspects of business in the near future!
Thanks to the way the brewery was set up, connected the bars and thanks to you as our customers, we were able to build a brewery that Ireland can be proud of, that I can be proud of brewing beers that pushes the envelope in Irish craft beer. In my absence the place will be carried onwards and upwards by the hardest working people the country has to offer, making the best beer the country has to offer. The new brewery set to install in May is really going to be a game changer and will see all the equipment woes put to bed and then, there will be nothing stopping Galway Bay whatsoever at home and abroad!
Watch this space, for both Galway Bay Brewery and I; we only have the brightest futures ahead!
Cheers,
Chris[/quote:1xdau3ua]

From what I can tell it sounds like he isn't leaving the industry though so would like to wish him the best of luck in whatever new ventures he takes up.

I think it's going to be a positive thing, in the end, both for him and for GBB. From what I know, he's moving abroad for a new (brewing) project...
