Sorry I don't have the bottles, but my mate might still have one, will ask him. He also found them to be a bit weird in aroma and taste. They were purchased in O'Briens in Naas.

I did have a Black IPA a few months ago in Bandon that wasn't quite right but the reason was obvious. It was nearing its best by date because the pub as usual had them hidden on the bottom shelf behind the bar and wasn't promoting beer brewed down the road.

It really just lacked all of the gloriously juicy hop notes that should have been there. I happily drank it as it was still better than anything else they had and I went and had a second one to help clear his stock.

You might have just got an old bottle.

I can't explain the cans though as they are brand new, one batch and they have been fine for me.

The KPA cans at Killarney were really good- a step up from the cans last year. I took two home and had them about a week later and they were still good (as expected).

I did have an issue with the BIPA. I got a 5 litre mini keg Christmas 2013. When I checked the dregs about 6 month later (after the keg had been sitting in a nice warm kitchen) I noticed a heavy solvent/TCP aroma/taste. I still have the keg if you want to check it out Sam...

I was thinking of using it for off-flavour training. Obviously, I'd make sure that everyone saw me pouring it from a Blacks branded mini-keg...
