Not a problem- but I don't necessarily think you are wrong. If the beer was being stored at too high a temperature, it might cause the problems you encountered.

Andrew, are you sensitive to phenols? Not everyone gets them. Unfortunately I'm hyper sensitive to them, to the point where I find a lot of Belgian style beers unpalatable. Maybe Pete is like me.
