In Sean's Bar, Athlone. €5-something a pint. Anyone know anything about it? Barman said it was 5.7% and brewed in Kentucky. A quick google throws up an article saying they have teamed up with Carlow but I cannot find any info on the draught version, only bottled ale at 6%. Is it widely available in Ireland? There seems to be a bourbon version at 8% out there too. It was nice enough, especially after a few weaker pints of Galway Hooker.

Carlow are their importers/distributors and they have jointly set up a distillery in the Carlow brewery as well (I think).

Their beers are pretty average I've found.

I spoke to their rep a few weeks back and he said they're opening a distillery in Louth soon I think he said. Then probably a brewery a bit further down the line.

Had their IPA and it was a bit like eating a hop bine. Might give this a go if I'm around Sean's anytime soon though.

Nice to see something new in Athlone too. It needs me to go there drinking some afternoon to check it out as there are a number of places that have popped up in the couple of years I moved back to Dublin.

I was in Malt House last week and found the selection pretty good. Lucan County sans sours.
