I'm curious what, if any, of the new wave of German craft beers have made it to Ireland. Are you guys seeing any of the likes of Hopfenstopfer, Camba Bavaria, BrauKunstKeller, Heidenpeters or the like?

Sadly, not much Irish craft beer making it over here, other than O'Hara's and Porterhouse, which I can order online in Germany. That's foreign beer spotting for me now! <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Only one I've seen is Crew Ale.

That's interesting. Is it just Crew Ale, or the Crew Republic range?

Quite of few of the brewers I know here don't think much of them, as it was started by two guys with a marketing backrgound, rather than brewers. They appeared out of nowhere with really nice branding, marketing, and beer made somewhere. Beer was ok though!

Pale ale and IPA, you're talking a good 2 years ago at least though. Wasn't massively impressed myself, thought it was grand but by no means better than an Irish one.

Crew, definitely not. I likened it to a lawnmower beer. But there's been an IPA explosion over here...
