Purely by coincidence, but as if by fate, I'm staying down the street from that pub tomorrow night, so we'll be sure to call.

Some spread of beers they have too.[/quote:z6wuq6wj]
I visited about 6 years ago, just after they'd opened. IF you go during the day you may be able to get a look at the brewery if you ask nicely. My mate Jonny who used to work for brewdog now brews for them and owner is a nice chap too.[/quote:z6wuq6wj]

Will be there in the next 15 minutes

Brodie's beers are really exceptional, I was impressed by them all, something that doesn't happen too much these days! King William pub is a bit shit tho, no beer menu and everyone there was drinking Fosters at the bar, and blocking access to the good taps. Two beers of choice were their Redcurrant London Sour and their barley wine, which is nearly 14% ABV.

Some great beers then on the mile, but Siren Smoke Signals on draught in the Euston Tap was the revelation of the trip. That's how not to brew to style. In fact it fecks the style book out the top floor window.

I have a bottle of that to enjoy when back from La France. The thing about William IV is its first and foremost a locals pub and brewery tap second. They have every right to be sat in there at the bar, a British tradition! Whilst menus would be handy their turnover can be rapid so they'd soon be outdated. I'd be more annoyed to have spent 5mins deciding on a beer. Only to find it was no longer on! Glad you enjoyed. Hope you write up your trip for the blog (everyone who's annyone has a beermondsey post... )

I think it's been covered well enough without needing me to do it! Besides I didn't take any notes really as I just wanted to enjoy the whole thing (and not be rude to my drinking partners).

If anyone is in the Euston Tap, the barman with the hat, Dave, is from Lucan. Sound chap and knows his beers.

I'm going to head back later in the year but I'll get the ferry home as I want to fill my suitcase with good brews.

Brodie's have a couple of ties/associations if you don't want to trek out to Leytonstone: The Cross Keys in Covent Garden and The Old Coffeehouse in Soho.
