i do like the rebel red but i have had a few odd tasting pints of it. the gingerman has it but i dont know how much they sell so it may well be in the keg for a long time. i had it in the b&c and wasnt crazy about it either on an occasion but on others i just cant get enough of it.it was nice from a mini keg though and ill probably buy another one in a few weeks when i make it down to the well.

when its good its very very good
when its bad ......

I concur with Noby's comments on our blind tasting in Bierhaus ICB meet. I was impresssed too by O'Hara's Red we had on draught a few times in Bierhaus when they had it. I had the Rebel Red a few times away from the Franciscan and it never tastes as good as it does in its home base. Of course at the Well it is cmoes straight from the brewing area to the storage tanks behind the bar and no other handling storage involved. Rebel Reds is really a super drink on its home ground. Noby's comments re trying red beers at room temperature is also a good point - I will try it in future. We have been too used to all drinks having to be chilled here in Ireland!! I never thought ten years ago I could drink any drink that wasn't chillde!!!! I m a slow starter!!!!

I've always enjoyed O'Hara's red, just when I feel like something simple after a rough day, and it's fairly easy to pop into Tescos and pick up a bottle. Disappointed to hear about the re-branding though; there should be more beers named after early Christian Saints!
