Interesting read about breweries in the US coming to blows over naming rights.

Every time I come up with a potential brewery name I consider registering it, just in case.

I never have. So if you do start a brewery or indeed any coporation, please don't call it Brian's Brewing Company, or BBC for short. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

It happened with the Kenmare brewing company. They are or where looking to set up and called the beer Kenmare pale ale. But that name is owned by C&R drinks

Also, remember why Blacks of Kinsale had to change their name.

And then there's "Ruby". Mr Loughnane wasn't too happy that another brewery was calling their beer by that name.
