Yeah it was definitely european hops. Couldn't figure out who it reminded me of, so I reckon it's Heinekin being "crafty" trying a Smithwicks Pale Ale type of effort. In fact it wasn't as nice as Smithwichks Pale Ale!

It was nice to have a bit of choice at the Picnic but when the staff pour you a Caledonian 80' (from a tap with a Caley logo on it) and tell you it's a Deuchars you have to worry about what they're up to.

The Affligem was €6.50 for a 300ml!!

The inside was nice and you could even get your hair cut (for free I think), they also had a great DJ there on Sunday. Oh, also had a Murphys Irish Red for the first time ever (they'd run out of the Mystery Pale Ale and the Krusowice) and was very pleasantly surprised, nice malty flavour, would definitely try it again depending on lack of options in the pub (faint praise I know).

I thought it was nicer than Smithwicks PA but its hard to really know if it was really nice or just a massive relief after drinking Heineken.

Didn't realise the Affligem was small glasses, glad I avoided that so.
