A Weekend in Munich 18 years 3 months ago #1

Great article, John. I loved the Löwenbraükeller, though I got to sit in the beer garden on my visit.

Munich food portions are pretty heavy, eh? And it's fairly obvious from the taste that the place was once salt capital of Europe.

Thanks for your comment BeerNut! Yes indeed; a lunchtime portion of Schweinshax'n and a couple of beers to wash it down meant I went back to the hotel for an hours kip! But then again, I am a lightweight...
It's not really a city for vegetarians that's for sure <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
After looking at the article again, I think I may have made an error in thinking that Aventinus was on tap in Weisses Brauhaus. But then the truth should not get in the way of a good story!

It was the [i:2e027v7o]leberkässe[/i:2e027v7o] that did for me in the end. The breeze-block-sized piece I got in the Unions-Bräu Haidhausen microbrewery put me off it for... well, actually I could go for some of that about now.
