I caught up with this tipple (and its mad inventor) in Oslo there a few weeks ago - I thought Galaxy was a great beer! AFAIK there is a pub somewhere on DNS (Clotarf?) thats selling Dark Arts and Galaxy, much to a collegues delight. He cant remember the name of the place so he must have really enjoyed the beer!

does the grain the brewery uses come 'mash ready' or do they germinate and dry etc... the grain on site?

All brewerys buy the barley already malted,the only one that I know of that still malt the raw barley at the brewery is "Pilsner Urquell".
