great article yet again beernut. sounds like a definite for next year. did you get the impression that many of the beers there would be at the belfast festival? hope to make it up to that one. am hoping that i'll make the great british beer festival in london next summer as it happily coincides with the england-south africa test match at the oval <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

I'd be very surprised if the local ones weren't. I've no idea how they go about sourcing beers for this sort of event, so it's anyone's guess what'll be in the King's Hall. There were a lot of summer ales at Hilden, an annoying number, in fact. Hopefully in November we'll get darker, warmer beers. Yum.

Does anyone know if this year's Belfast Festival is a 'Beer [i:3hmdwcgt]and[/i:3hmdwcgt] music festival? Last year I couldn't hear myself think because of a skin head on stage screaming through a microphone. It was awful.

It was pretty bad, I'm afraid. Polite debate over the finer points proved quite impossible. My Dad tired of it quickly and I lasted little longer. It is entirely the wrong way to do things. It was like being in a night club that served real ale. I used to think I would be able stick night clubs if the beer was better. I'm not so sure now.
