I enjoyed your article, Barry. It never ceases to amaze me how some restaurants may have an extensive wine list including expensive choices, but still only offer Miller or the like as a beer. It's almost as if they are saying; If the customer doesen't appreciate our great wine list, he doesn't deserve any decent alternative!

And I have had both Fat Tyre amber ale and Rogue Dead Guy ale in the bottle. Both are very good!

My last comment would be what kind of turnover could a place expect with 170 beers on tap. Must be a feckin' amazing place! Was it packed with punters?

It was pretty busy all right. I commented on that as the girl was bringing us to our table (we had to wait and were given a pocket vibrator to tell us when the table was ready ) and she said it was busier the previous night! It had a good range of people too, so definitely a popular place.

I have to admit it kind of worried me when I was ordering, as I was thinking of how long might something lie in the pipes with that wide a selection on offer. As it was, I was actually quite ill that night, but I suspected the calamari I had as the same thing happened to me last time I had calamari only a month ago, so maybe my system has turned against it . The beer certainly tasted fine!

And you're dead right about restaurants. I don't go out to eat in Dublin very often, at least not since junior was born, so I don't know if things are a changin' out there. The choice in off-licenses and bars seems to be increasing, so I wonder if the restraunts will follow suit.
