Do not know what is happening but I am finding the web pages very slow to load,sometime not at all and getting an error page. This is not happening with other web pages so it is not my ip address or my connection.

Are you finding it consistently slow, or occasionally slow? Is it just the forum you are finding slow, or the "main site" (they're two different applications).

In the past we've had occasional down time due to the database being hit by bad scripts running on the same server (it's shared hosting), but I haven't seen nor heard of those timeouts in quite some time.

As I clicked to read your post,it came up quick enough,but did not fully load,i.e. I could read your message but your avator took approximately 30/40 seconds to load. It happens here at my home and also if I log on in the city. Sometimes when I log on it struggles to load up home page and then community page,It also struggles sometimes when I move between threads. It appears to me to be more common of late.

30-40 seconds to load a 4KB image? That's not good, but unless everyone is having similar issue (I can only say I'm not, and I'm on a fairly shitty connection by modern standards - what's this German efficiency lark about? <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->), then we'd have to assume it's a local problem (in the absence of other info).

I'll have a dive into the server stats this evening to see if there's any clues there.

The database timeout that used to lead to an error message on the site (was a DB timeout), now that'd be a different issue as there was clearly a problem then, but this looks different, right?
