Broken Links 15 years 3 months ago #1

I am doing a bit of research and reading a lot of older threads. I am finding a lot of broken links referring to other threads on the Irish Craft Brewer site. Simply replacing irishcraftbrewer.com with beoir.org fixes this. Should I click the '!' and report any broken links I find?

Fixing all that would be a lot of work. How about assuming that references to the old site sould be read as references to the new one?

Well that works, but then again I know that the Irish Craft Brewer messageboard has been migrated to Beoir as I was there when it happened. As time goes on new members will not be aware of this. As the messageboard archive is a great resource for newbies, when they encounter a link to a great recipe that leads them to a 404 error it would not be intuitive to modify the url to get to the thread. I think that if people report broken links as they find them over time they can be fixed, it's a lot of work in one go, but a few minutes "gardening" by the mods every time a post is reported and it would make a huge difference.

Sounds like the kind of thing a simple script could resolve easily. *washes hands*

Why is there suddenly a BeerNut shaped hole in my monitor?

Brian, sorry, I just saw this thread now.

During the migration I did a replace on all ICB links so they'd point to Beoir, but it's clear some slipped through. Are you finding loads of them?

Please do report any that you find, and I can assess how widespread it is, and see what can be done.
