I was confused by this for a while by this until I noticed that there's some differences depending on if you include the "www." bit or not. If it's left out, auto-login doesn't work for me and there is no "Join Beoir" bit.

Never noticed that as we always publish the URL with the www prefix. Basically, it looks like the browser is treating them as different, so the cookies are probably different, hence no auto-login if you switch from one to the other. If you log in though, the Join Beoir appears. I assume that if you check "remember me" on both it'll auto login regardless of whether you prefix with the www or not.

You have to have a user account to join Beoir, although maybe that shouldn't be so, but if you join online without an account, you don't get to see the Beoir forum and basically can't contribute, so it makes sense.

Ah right, I'll chalk it up to me or my browser being confused <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> Yeah, I suppose the prerequisite of ICB membership makes sense, until beoir is officially launched at least.
