Changes to Article Categories and Menus 17 years 7 months ago #1

Hi All,

Some more simple changes to the site: I've added two new categories of articles and have moved some articles about accordingly.

These are

[b:3gl1j0l0]ICB Meets[/b:3gl1j0l0]
As there are a few articles on the various meetups now, and more to come, this should makes them easier to find.

[b:3gl1j0l0]Features[/b:3gl1j0l0]
The important one into which we will drop those items which are valuable resources or best represent what ICB is about. To that end, the list of craft breweries and the list of pubs that stock them have been moved into this category. To make these more prominent, this category is directly accessible from the main menu (not from the forum menu yet, as the forum is technically a different application masquerading in ICB clothing, before some smart-arse points it out )

News has been relegated to under the Articles menu as it has not changed in so long!

I hope this makes it easier for you to browse the content.

Couple more subdivisions added to the articles section:

[b:1ptn9352]Festivals/Events[/b:1ptn9352]
Non ICB meets and events that ICB members are reporting on.

[b:1ptn9352]Reviews[/b:1ptn9352]
Speaks for itself. We have two book reviews. This should be grown

Is it possible to view all articles in a list?
I knew what article I was looking for but had to check a few categories before I found it. A 'view all' and sort would have saved a bit of time.

Unfortunately not noby, sorry. The sections and categores structure is pretty inflexible. I haven't checked this out in the new version which is supposed to be a bit less anal about such things.

Did you try the search function up in the top right? That will search all items in the main part of the site (but not the forum).

I found it before resorting to the search, but I guess that will suffice.

Not to worry; it's one of these things that will probably never concern me again.
Actually, going to the Content Discussion forum, and using the link might be another option.

The search works fairly well, and will present a list of all items that contain the key word(s) you search for. It'll be handy when we have a massive volume of articles from the membership
