Well done to those who upgraded the membership joins/renewals functionality on the website. I'd like to get some advice from those involved if I may. I'm a member of another organisation that is trying to automate the membership management functions.

We are going to use Wordpress for website content management. Can anyone recommend any Wordpress plug-ins for membership manamagement incl Paypal integration, private forum, renewals, transaction confirmations, member database.

The committee does not have developer IT experience but some common sense savvy. We'd like to keep everything within Wordpress so that web site management can be passed to future committees relatively easily.

I'm afraid you might have a more difficult time with wordpress as your CMS. It's a little more limited being designed as a blogging platform but membership options do exist. Like this one.[/url:1fkqfl3y]

Give it a go and see how you get on.
One thing to be wary of is if you use a forum. Many forums are pretty incompatible with wordpress unless you get one that's designed for wordpress like bbpress or simplepress.

Thanks for those pointers. Definitely food for thought there to stop us going down a blind alley.
Finally, what would be your preferable solution for CMS, FORUM and Membership functions? Just off the top of your head now.

We use joomla, phpbb, jfusion Bridge and akeeba subscriptions.
Doesn't need to be so complicated though.
Get a forum that's 100% compatible with your cms from the get go.
Will save messing about with bridges.
