As I'm in the final stages of negotiating a job offer to move back to the States I need to find a good home for my 240v powered brewing equipment. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

The first item on the list has been one of the single most handy pieces of kit I've bought; my [b:28orbn2q]ATC 800+ temperature controller and associated bits and bobs.[/b:28orbn2q]

This is the equivalent of Fortex's ATC 800+ Package #3 plus an aquarium-style immersion heater.

Includes:
[*]ATC 800+ Temperature controller (I've already wired it)
[*]ATC 800+ enclosure / "mounting kit"
[*]4 Outlet cord for the heating side -10amp up to 2400 watts on the heating side
[*]Single outlet cord for the cooling side -20amp up to 4800 watts
[*]Rubber-coated temperature probe with suction cup
[*] Aquarium-style glass immersion water heater with integrated rubber bung (no idea how many watts) for use heating -can maintain up to 35C with well insulated fermenter.



What I've used it for:
[*]Maintaining my water at strike temp on brew day while I get other things ready; even if you forget about the water for a while you won't overshoot your temperatures.
[*]Heat ramping fermentations for traditional Belgian fermentation profiles and separately promoting lactobacillus growth for my historical porter
[*]Use with an outlet timer to start heating my water 15 minutes before I wake up on brew day to save time
[*]Controlling lager fermentations and lagering temps with my fridge
[*]Monitoring my wort chilling progress from across the room while I clean up from the rest of the brew day


I've currently set it to maintain temps within +/- 1 degree C of target but you can easily set it however you want (dead simple to "program").
The supported temperature range is -19C - 99C; it will beep loudly as soon as it gets to boiling temps, which is also useful but I think really designed to let you know that you're going to melt the temp probe if you keep that up!
