Brewery equipment and Cellar supplies 14 years 5 months ago #1

Hello,
Im Rob and i have been in the uk brewery trade for 13 years, 2 of which i have been running a refrigeration and cellar services. I work with alot of cask ale microbreweries(some are now brewing larger)installing brewery equipment like taps and handpumps so they can sell their products in customers pubs as the big breweries do not like other brewers useing their equipment and also supplying them with cellar equipment and sundries.
Over the next few months i am going to be setting up an online brewery supplies and as i was brought up in Co Wicklow i thought i would offer these services to the growing breweries and pubs here in Ireland,So if anyone has any ideas or comments on what equipment breweries and pubs are finding difficult to get or are paying a high price for i would like to here from you and one more thing- is there a need for an independent cellar services in Ireland and is it easy to get equipment installed in pubs to sell your products, do the big breweries do this and do they charge!!...
Hope this starts a good post..

If anyone wants any advice on cellar service matters you can contact me by going on my web site <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="www.cellartechsolutions.com">www.cellartechsolutions.com

Cheers all

Hi Rob,

Welcome to Beoir

We always welcome some new commercial support.

Speaking for the home brewers amongst us we are currently intested in:

CO2 cylinders in the 2kg and 6kg sizes. No problem getting them filled in Ireland its just getting the bottles either new or second hand

Mixed Gas bottles in 6kg size: Can get them filled but very difficult to source legitamately

CO2 and Mixed gas regs for the above

John Guest Fittings ( can only get in bags of 10 ) here!

Keg connectors are very expensive here: about 65€ for an S-type ( in UK can be had for £30 )

New or 2nd hand legitimate beer kegs with spears for dispense or without spears for conversion to kettles and othyer brewing equipment.

Cheers

Thanks Will,
Keg connectors and gas valves will not be a problem will get them on the site!! However gas bottles i will need to look into as most supplies like to keep hold of their own and use the rental system this is also to cover them for the safty point of view as they are checked at point of refill.

Will post info as soon as i know...

Cheers

John guest fitting i may look at posting individally will let you know and kegs i will look into as there was a big uproar over lost kegs by the breweries cost them alot of money. I know a brewery over here that uses plastic kegs which contains a bag inside and uses pressure to inflate the bag and dispense the product, will get this info and post soon...

cheers

Rob
