Im a complete newbie (so apologies for my lack of knowledge) and just about ready to bottle stout after a 10 days in the brew bucket.
Im looking for options. Bottles / keg or whatever.
Would this 'cornie' work for me at this stage, or am i just jumping the gun a bit?[/quote:5y9fgwo5]
Hi rebelnorrie, cornies involve an investment in equipment such as disconnects, gas regulator and gas bottle approx €100. So unless you plan on stocking up on beer and maybe having a kegerator when it comes to serving, the bottles are the way forward.
There are other simpler options such as King Keg dispensing, which is easier & cheaper. Ask some questions as the Beoir members are full of experience knowledge.
Tips; dissolve your priming sugar in a container of hot water then add carefully to your bucket before filling bottles, this ensures even carbonation.
Be thorough in the cleaning process of all bottling equipment, don't cut corners at this stage of the project.
Good luck either way.

Cheers Geoff,
Think ill stick to bottles - but thanks for being honest and straight up.
right now, i just see myself making a brew, storing the bottles in the shed and popping them in the fridge as i need them. Might invest in more equipment later.
cheers for the bottling advice. I got them glucose drops for the bottles - would i be better off doing what you say above with priming sugar instead?
and ya, ill scrub and clean everything properly - it seems to be the 'key' underlined in bold font 48 thing on every guide! so ill take heed!

Go with the carb drops, I used them when I was bottling and always had perfectly carbonated beer. One carb drop per 500ml bottle.
Not to steal Geoff's thunder, but Colin I have a single gas reg, very like that one. I can bring it to the Lucan County this evening and you can take it away. If it works for you we can come to some arrangement.
