TOPIC:

cheap bottling buckets 15 years 3 weeks ago #1

I was in alpack[/url:1jeg7ct2] the other day getting some buckets for the garden and i got talking to the guy.
The biggest bucket they sell is 20L for 3.96 +VAT - i was asking would they be able to stock 25L buckets as the 20L ones are just a little small for homebrewers.
He said his supplier has 25L buckets but he never saw a demand for them so he doesnt stock them - He seemed interested when i told him that the homebrew shops sold 25L buckets for €12. The ones he would provide would cost no more than a fiver.
Anyway, he said he could get them but i'd need to buy a pallet of them.
[b:1jeg7ct2]So this is more a message to the homebrew shops[/b:1jeg7ct2], to give people a cheaper option than the regular youngs 25L buckets - while probably still making a decent profit.
The buckets are food safe, are NOT transparent and are NOT graduated - but if you are using them for bottling/batch priming, most people wont care.

PS: I may be being naive, the homebrew shops may be already buying their buckets in for less - and im forgetting about a little thing called markup.
PPS: Im not even in the market for a bucket, just an observation <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
