S30 canisters and refills from HomeBrewWest 15 years 2 months ago #1

We have just figured a way to recharge S30 canisters, and want to see if you guys think its a runner. It would work as follows:
- courier picks up empty S30 canister from you,
- we ship back full one to you.

Costs would be competitive for S30 and also for refills (probably as good as or better than UK prices), and courier costs would be as follows:
- Euro 5.00 for pick up, and
- free for return if it is part of an order, or Euro 5 otherwise.

I figure its way better value than the 8 gram system if you are kegging regularly. I'd really appreciate your comments.

Good idea, I'd use it but now have the place in dublin for small stuff like cylinders, but defo a good idea.

Sounds like a good service but I suspect most people who are kegging use a large gas bottle. Could be wrong though.

Any update on the grain mills ?

We are about 2 months away from cheap millers. But they are on the way. We will be stocking S30 canisters in 2 weeks or so. We also have the modern Rotokegs (top tap) in stock. They look like a better quality keg than the King Keg (the float looks more complex) . . . has anyone had any experience with these?

We have had issues with leaks on the "weld" with King Kegs.

I don't have the room for, nor do I want the huge canisters and I wouldn't mind leaving a keg on residual CO2 pressure while I send it away for this.

I'd definitely be interested in sending away a canister to get it refilled if I could get it within 5-7 days of sending it out. (Turn-around time would be important.)

(D&D is a pain for me to get to (and I get lost every time) and the price they charge randomly changes every time you go.)
"Yea, it's for a fish tank...." -Some of you know what I'm talking about.
