81 new hops, grains, yeasts & more for homebrew.ie 15 years 2 months ago #7

Hi Adam

The malts don’t come in there original bags but I have been assured by my supplier that due to the fact he crushes to order when he has crushed the correct amount of one type of malt he labels them before moving on to the next lot by which he avoids mistakes like that of putting on the wrong labels or incorrect information.

We don’t see the point of hiding the fact that our grains all come from the maltmiller it means that if anyone sees something on his website that we don’t have then we can get it for them.

Hope this helps,
Donal.

Donal,

The website keeps saying "Neale's Malts" but as far as I know there's no such maltster as "Neale's". Do you mean that these malts are coming from Neale, from <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.themaltmiller.co.uk">www.themaltmiller.co.uk ?

-If so, Neale offers MANY different malts from many different maltsters; in order to plug these things into my brewing tool I need to know what maltster they actually come from.

The brown malt that you have for example that says "Neale's brown malt"$$ "The Malt Miller" (if this is the same Neale), carries three brands of malt and only one of those has a brown malt (Fawcett).

I'm specifically looking for a source for Fawcett malts in Ireland, please let me know if this is the brown malt that you carry. (Fawcett is a premium, premium brand and is definitely worth more than something called "Neale's Malt", too, for what that's worth.)

[EDIT] I just saw your post above that says that these ARE coming from the Malt Miller; his website only currently lists Fawcett brown malt so I'm going to assume that this is what you have. I would definitely spell out to people that these are Fawcett malts on the website as opposed to "Neale's Malts"$$ Fawcett is a 6th generation, TINY, traditional "craft" maltster. It's a SUPER PREMIUM product; I'd let people know what you're providing. Its definitely a differentiator that you have vs. the other Irish home brew stores. -I knowing what maltster this came from also allows me to pull the malt analysis sheet and know EXACTLY what I'm getting. (Brewpaks doesn't make this stuff readily available, for example.)
Great stuff, order coming soon.

Adam
