I recently placed an order with homebrew.ie for some fermentation vessels, a glass carboy and a few demijohns, with these I also ordered the associated bungs and airlocks etc... to go along with the order. Unfortunately though, I ordered bungs are airlocks that are too small for the carboy (although correctly sized for the demijohns) - Disaster!

Not so however, a hawk eye watching over the orders spotted my mistake before it was packaged and shipped and fired me off an email before any damage was done to let me know the error of my ways and advised they could replace the incorrect parts with the correct parts on my order before it was shipped, and I would just pay the difference in price...

Top notch service, in my book at least.

Faieplay on that front.
I still have a sour taste from the last discount offer he advertised however. Having been contacted several ways he still failed to apply the discount or make amends in any way.

The bungs should fit snugly in a 5 gallon carboy if you insert the airlock before pushing the bung in.

I too recently had a very sour experience with them and to be quiet frank will never shop with them again, they did right by me once but after leaving things out of a 100 euro plus order then not replying to my ~5 emails and a phone call for over a month, ship the items "which will be with you either today or tomorrow" that took another week to get and one item, a plastic cap for the carboy has been malformed due to how they wrapped the parcel. I'm not sure it'll fit snugly on my carboy now, I'll have to wait and see.

Date placed the order: 1/12/10
Date received final pieces of order: 11/1/11
