As homebrew enthusiasts we all have a touch of the craft about us, and possibly appreciate good home-grown produce. I myself grow a small amount of veg in the garden, and have a few hens away in the corner too. The eggs are delicious and they take very little work. It truly is the good life. I hope you're all sold.

Here's the point of the thread. I have three hens and one cockerel that I need to find a new home for. Mammy hen hatched them from eggs, they are now 14 weeks old and beginning to crowd the coop too much for comfort. The hens are Barnevelders and the Cockerel is a Welsummer. For anyone interested they can have the bunch for as little as a few bottles of whatever batch they have on. Failing that, ye can just take 'em.

Come get 'em!

Market Square for this topic, I think. Would love to take them but they'd only end up as entertainment for the cats and local foxes. Briefly.

I hear you Dan, built a little greenhouse this year to go with the veggie patch!
But with 23 hens, 3 cocks, 4 ducks and a drake and 4 turkeys on a clock the yard is full. If anyone fancies a few good layer in the south-east I'd let a few off to a good home as well!

Sorry about the mis-post TBN.

You'd be surprised how resilient they are to cats, though the foxes would probably do a job on 'em. That said, there's plenty around my way and I havn't lost one yet.

Ha! Good man yourself, that's some collection. Get off my turf with your offers though, I need shot of these hens before I have to apply for planning permission for an extended coop!
